Following a very satisfying career as a health care administrator, I returned to teaching and have been in the classroom since 1996.  I taught at the upper elementary level and moved to the middle school in 2001 and have since also obtained my secondary endorsement in social studies.  My three sons all graduated from LP schools. They certainly have experienced their own strengths and challenges during their education.
Of course my experience and ongoing education informs my teaching style and philosophy.  It is my job as an educator to help each student grow in knowledge and skills which means it is imperative to try to get to know each student's skill level, learning style, strengths, and challenges. I am fortunate to work on a team that shares the idea that all students can be successful and we will develop interventions as needed.  This is accomplished by working closely with my coworkers to provide students with consistent instruction practices and vocabulary.
